Do I need a second set of wheels for winter tires?▼
You do not need them, but most GTA drivers who keep a car more than two winters come out ahead. With a dedicated set, a seasonal swap is a bolt-off bolt-on job instead of dismounting and remounting rubber on the same rims twice a year, which is faster, cheaper per visit, and easier on the tire beads and your TPMS sensors.
Are steel wheels better than alloy for winter?▼
Steel handles Ontario winters well for two reasons: it shrugs off salt and curb damage that would ruin a polished or chrome finish, and it costs less, so you are not risking an expensive wheel in the worst driving months. The tradeoffs are weight and looks. A painted or powder-coated alloy is a reasonable middle ground if appearance matters to you.
Can I run a smaller wheel size in winter?▼
Often yes, and it is usually a good idea. Dropping a diameter and running a taller sidewall gives you a narrower tire that cuts through slush better and a cushion against pothole damage, and smaller winter tires typically cost less. The overall rolling diameter has to stay close to stock and the wheel must clear your brakes, which is the part to confirm with us before ordering.
Do winter wheels need their own TPMS sensors?▼
If your vehicle uses direct TPMS, each wheel set needs its own sensors, or the sensors have to be moved across at every swap. Most drivers with two sets fit sensors to both so nothing has to be transferred. We can confirm which system your vehicle uses and program the sensors during fitting.
What size winter wheels fit my car?▼

Can I finance a winter wheel and tire set?▼
