These terms cover how the Limitless Tire Referral Partner program works: what earns commission, how much it is, when it lands in your bank account, and the small number of things that will end a partnership. Plain language on purpose, because an agreement about money should be readable in one sitting.
1. Who can join
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to receive payment in Canada. You do not need to be an existing customer and there is no fee to join.
Every application is reviewed by a person. We may decline an application, and we may decline without giving a reason. Employees of Limitless Tire and their immediate household are not eligible.
Your application is not accepted until we approve it. Your referral code does nothing until that happens, so please do not start sharing it before you are approved.
2. Your referral link and code
You choose your own code, subject to availability. Codes are 3 to 20 characters, letters, numbers and hyphens only. Codes that impersonate Limitless Tire, imply an official sale, or resemble our promotional codes are not permitted.
Your link is limitlesstire.com/r/YOURCODE. When someone opens it we record that they came from you, and that attribution lasts 30 days on that browser. Someone who cannot use your link can enter your code at checkout instead.
Your code and link are personal to you. You may not sell, rent, share or transfer them, and you may not operate more than one partner account.
3. Orders that earn commission
The program currently covers online orders placed on limitlesstire.com only. In-store, telephone and walk-in orders are not tracked and do not earn commission.
An order earns commission when all of the following are true
- It was placed online through your referral link, or with your code entered at checkout
- Your referral discount was the discount applied to that order
- It was paid in full
- It was not cancelled, refunded, or charged back before the 30 day hold ended
- It is not a self-referral, and does not appear to be one
4. How commission is calculated
Commission is 5% of the invoice total minus sales tax. Sales tax is money collected on behalf of government, so it is never part of the amount commission is calculated on. In Ontario that tax is HST. Orders shipped elsewhere in Canada use whatever sales tax applied to that order.
Worked example. A set of tires listed at $840.00 is bought through your link. Your 5% referral discount takes $42.00 off, leaving $798.00. HST of $103.74 is added, so the customer pays $901.74. Commission is calculated on $798.00, which at 5% is $39.90.
The rate that applies to an order is the rate in effect on the day that order was paid. Each commission stores the rate it was calculated at, so a later change to the program rate never alters what you have already earned. The maximum rate under this program is 10%.
Commission is not paid on sales tax, government fees such as tire stewardship, or shipping charges.
5. One discount per order
Referral discounts do not stack with promotional codes. A customer receives one discount, and it is always the larger of the two, so nobody is ever worse off for using your link.
If a promotional code beats your 5% referral discount, the customer keeps the larger saving and that order does not earn commission. If your referral discount is equal to or larger than the code, your discount applies and the order earns commission as normal.
6. Hold period, reversals and clawbacks
Commission is recorded as soon as an order is paid and then held for 30 days. The hold exists because returns, cancellations and card disputes happen inside that window, and we only pay on orders that stuck.
If an order is refunded, cancelled or charged back during the hold, the commission on it is reversed and removed from your balance. If a reversal happens after we have already paid you, we may recover that amount from your future commission, and we will tell you when we do.
We may hold a payout while we review an order we believe is fraudulent, is a self-referral, or breaks these terms.
7. How you are paid
Payouts are made through Stripe, our payment processor. Before you can be paid you must complete Stripe's onboarding, which includes confirming your identity and connecting a bank account. Stripe collects that information because Canadian financial regulations require it before money can be sent to you.
You give your banking details to Stripe, not to us. Limitless Tire never sees or stores your bank account number.
Released commission is paid out once your available balance reaches $25.00. Below that it rolls forward until it does. We can also release a payout manually on request.
Payouts are in Canadian dollars. We are not responsible for delays caused by Stripe, your bank, or information you have not yet given Stripe. If your Stripe account is incomplete, restricted or closed, we cannot pay you until it is fixed.
8. Taxes are yours
You participate as an independent referral partner, not as an employee, agent, partner or joint venturer of Limitless Tire. Nothing here creates an employment relationship, and you have no authority to make commitments on our behalf.
Commission you earn is your income to report. We do not withhold income tax, CPP or EI from your payouts. Depending on how much you earn and how you are registered, you may have GST/HST obligations of your own, and we may be required to report amounts we have paid you. Please speak to your own accountant about your situation.
9. What you must not do
The program exists so you can recommend us to people who need tires. These rules keep it that way.
- Do not bid on Limitless Tire brand terms in paid search, or run ads that look like they come from us
- Do not post your link as spam, including unsolicited messages, comment sections, classified listings or bulk email
- Do not present yourself as Limitless Tire, or claim to speak for us
- Do not advertise prices, discounts, warranties or delivery times that we have not published
- Do not build sites, coupon pages or browser extensions that intercept traffic already headed to us
- Do not use your own link for your own purchases, or arrange for someone to place an order that is really yours
- Do not attempt to reverse engineer, manipulate or interfere with referral tracking
10. What you can see about your referrals
Your dashboard shows clicks on your link, the orders credited to you, the amount each commission was calculated on, and your payouts. It does not show customer names, addresses, contact details, or what any individual bought. Customer information is not ours to share, and we do not share it.
11. Changes to the program
We may change the commission rate, the customer discount, the hold period, the payout minimum, or these terms. Changes apply to orders placed after the change takes effect and never retroactively to commission you have already earned.
We may also pause or close the program. If we do, commission already earned and not reversed will still be paid to you.
12. Suspension and termination
You can leave at any time by telling us, and any commission you have properly earned will still be paid.
We may suspend or close a partner account for breaking these terms, for fraud or attempted fraud, for damaging the brand, or for repeated self-referrals. Where a closure is because of fraud or a serious breach, unpaid commission may be forfeited.
13. Liability
The program is provided as it is. We are not liable for lost commission caused by tracking failures outside our control, including a customer clearing cookies, using a different device, using private browsing, blocking cookies, or opening your link through an app that strips the referral. Our total liability to you is limited to commission properly earned and not yet paid.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute goes to the courts of Ontario.
15. Questions
Ask us before you assume. If something here is unclear, or you want to check whether a particular way of sharing your link is allowed, contact us and we will tell you.
The current version of these terms is shown at the top of this page. You accept the version that was in force when you applied, and we will tell you if a change requires you to accept a new version.
