Tire & Wheel Comparison Guides

76 side-by-side comparisons written by the technicians who do the work, covering tires, wheels, suspension, and the service decisions drivers get quoted on every day.

Most buying advice online is written to sell one of the two options. These guides are written to help you pick correctly, which sometimes means telling you the cheaper choice is the right one. Every comparison follows the same structure: what each option is good at, where it falls short, a spec-by-spec table, and a plain verdict on which driver each one suits.

Ontario conditions drive a lot of the conclusions. A tire that reviews well in a mild climate can be the wrong purchase for a driver who sees road salt, freeze-thaw potholes, and six months below the 7ยฐC threshold where all-season compounds start to harden. Where the answer changes because of our winters or our roads, the guide says so.

Start with the category that matches your decision. If you are replacing tires and have not settled on a type yet, work through tire types first, then brands, then specific models. If you have a quote in hand and want to understand what you are being charged for, go straight to the service comparisons.

Tire types and seasons

The category decision comes before the brand decision. These guides cover what actually changes between summer, all-season, all-weather, and winter rubber, and between touring, performance, highway, and off-road tread.

Tire brands head to head

Brand-level comparisons for drivers deciding where to spend. Each one looks at wet grip, tread life, winter capability, and what the price difference actually buys you in Ontario conditions.

Specific tire models compared

Model-against-model comparisons for buyers who have already narrowed the shortlist to two specific tires and want the differences that matter on the road.

Wheels, rims and finishes

Construction, fitment, and finish decisions for anyone changing wheels, plus the brand comparisons we get asked about most and the repair-or-replace question when a rim is damaged.

Suspension, lift and lowering

Ride height and handling changes, from the lift-versus-level question on trucks to the spring-versus-coilover decision on cars, including the brand comparisons behind each.

Brakes, tires and auto service

Service comparisons for drivers trying to work out which job they actually need before booking, so the quote makes sense and nothing gets replaced unnecessarily.

Paint protection and window tint

Appearance and protection work, covering what each film or coating actually does, how long it lasts, and which brands are worth the difference.

Buying, financing and coverage

The decisions either side of the purchase itself: how to pay for a set, and what the protection plans do and do not cover.

Once you have decided

Every option covered in these guides is something we fit and service in-house at five GTA locations: Brampton, Mississauga, North York, Pickering, and Burlington. You can bring the comparison to us and we will confirm the choice against your vehicleโ€™s door jamb placard before anything is ordered, which is the step that catches load index and fitment mistakes before they cost money.
